Dear friends and colleagues,
This is my pleasure to announce the next LIVIm Club, which will take
place on Monday 20th May at the London Research Institute
Speakers will be:
- Prof Kurt Anderson (Beatson Institute and University of Glasgow)
- Dr Tim Witney (Comprehensive Cancer Imaging Centre & MRC-CSC Molecular
Therapy group - Imperial College London)
Attached is the detailed program
Please note that registration is FREE but REQUIRED if you have not
registered previously (see poster)
Looking forward to seeing you on Monday 20th !
LIVIm
Monday May 20th
Venue: Room 37A&B, London Research Institute, Cancer Research UK, 44
Lincoln's Inn Fields -- WC2A 3LY London
17.00 -- 17.50 Professor Kurt Anderson, Beatson Institute and University
of Glasgow
Quantitative in vivo imaging of disease and response to therapy
. FRAP and FLIM-FRET can be used to assess molecular dynamics at the
cellular and subcellular
level in vivo.
. Mutant p53 mobilises eCadherin in the PKC model of pancreatic cancer,
which is reversed
by dasatinib treatment.
. FLIM analysis of a Src FRET reporter reveals spatial & temporal
dynamics and antimetastic
drug treatment in different regions of sub cut tumours and with respect
to local
vasculature
18.00 -- 18.30 Dr Tim Witney, Comprehensive Cancer Imaging Centre &
MRC-CSC Molecular Therapy
group (Aboagye Lab)
Non-invasive imaging of tumour glycogen storage by 18F-NFTG positron
emission tomography
. Tumours accumulate glycogen at levels far higher than normal tissues
. 18F-NFTG annotates glycogen storage in cancer cells / tumours in vivo
. Imaging de novo glycogenesis can inform Rab25 oncogene status, which
is of prognostic
significance in tumours
. Glycogen status, measured by 18F-NFTG PET, is a marker of tumour
proliferative state
Drinks and munchies are provided after the talks to follow the
conversations in an informal atmosphere
Registration to LIVIm is FREE but REQUIRED
People registered for previous meetings do not have to register again
For registration, please email your details and affiliation to
LIVIm at cancer.org.uk
If you have not registered in advance you will be refused entry
Best wishes
Francois
