Subject: University of Liverpool: Recruiting a Prof of Biomedical Imaging
Dear Francois,
My colleagues and I at the University of Liverpool (together with people
at Manchester, UCL and Edinburgh) have recently been awarded £4.5M for a
UK Regenerative Medicine Platform (UKRMP) Safety Hub (see
www.ukrmp.org.uk <http://www.ukrmp.org.uk>). A key initial focus of our
Hub is to investigate the biodistribution and behaviour of transplanted
cells in mouse models of liver and kidney injury, using various whole
animal imaging techniques.
Our University is now committed to investing in this area and we are
planning to set up a centre for preclinical imaging with the following
imaging modalities: MRI, SPECT, CT, photoacoustic imaging (MSOT from
iTHera Medical), bioluminescence/fluorescence (IVIS Spectrum). We are
also currently advertising for someone to head the centre (please see
attached), and ideally, would prefer someone who has experience of
high-field strength MRI, but who also has the enthusiasm to develop
multi modal imaging platforms, and to make this facility become a
recognised centre of excellence.
I would be very grateful if you could send the attached advert to anyone
you might know who could be interested in such a position. I am very
happy to be contacted for further information.
With best wishes
