Dear microscopists,

   this is a reminder that the FILM server
<\\film-nas.med.ic.ac.uk\SCRATCH> is only to be used as a temporary
storage space to move files around, NOT to store any data. Files on the
server can and will be removed whenever space is needed WITHOUT NOTICE.
This is to make sure all users can smoothly use the microscopes without
worrying about copying data around.

   If you need space to STORE your data, we highly recommend to use the
double-backed up space provided by the Bioinformatics Support Service,
including the very useful OMERO Image Database. That's what we use for
our image data in FILM, because it's the best solution we have found.
For more information see FILM website / GUIDELINES / DATA / DATA
MANAGEMENT for more information.

<http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/imagingfacility/facility_guidelines/data_management#data_management>

  Right now, the server is again nearing capacity, so we will delete
files to make space for new data over the next few days. If there is
anything you need, please move it elsewhere quickly.

Good imaging,

Martin
