The material on vector-valued function spaces is also described nicely
in section 2.3 of the new Brezzi-Fortin (+Boffi) book which is available
as an E-book from the Imperial College library (sorry for non-IC people):

In general this is a very nice book. In particular, Chapter 3 is a new
chapter that has been added to demystify the issues of LBB stability by
working entirely with matrices.
