Resources/Glossary Available?

This may be a simple question, but since I'm a 'newbie' to the Web
world, is there a comprehensive glossary to XML (also SGML, and HTML)
available via the web? I'm trying to overcome the learning curve as
rapidly as possible.

Also, any good books, papers, or other references to XML in particular,
and SGML/HTML in general, that you would recommend?

Many TIA,
