xml4j19980206, SAX 1.0, and AttributeMap

Yesterday, I installed the "19980206" release of "XML for Java" yesterday, and
while it seems to run its own tests OK, when I tried to use it for my SAX-based
code, I received the following error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/xml/sax/AttributeMap
The funny thing is, I can't find any mention of an "AttributeMap" class in the
SAX 1.0 documentation (I downloaded SAX 1.0 immediately in the hope of find this
missing class, but no ...). Apologies if this is a dumb question, and I'm
missing the painfully obvious, but has anyone any suggestions as to what might
be happening, or has anyone else experienced the same problem? I would most
grateful for any clues. Thank you very much in advance,
Cheers,
Tony.
