Normally I would title this message LISTRIVIA, but some posters
***including some well known names*** have been inconsiderate in their
postings lately. ***Having returned from 2 weeks absence, I posted about 3
mails to XML-DEV. MOST OF MY MAIL THEN CONSISTED OF ***MULTIPLE POSTINGS OF
UNNECESSARILY QUOTED MATERIAL***.

What saddens me is that I posted (gently) to the list only a week ago, and
the inconsiderate behaviour started immediately afterwards. It's very simple:

Decide what you want to say (the standard is very good - keep it up).
Say it, clearly and concisely (again good)
Don't say what ***other people have said*** unless it's critical
	Reply ***only to the list***
READ YOUR MESSAGE BEFORE POSTING. Cut out any unnecessary quotes.

If you think this is fussy, be aware than many people have to ***pay for
what mail they receive***. An XML-DEV'er may be proud of what they have
posted to this list, but they don't want to have to pay to read ***SIX***
copies of it as I have had to this week.

	P.
