Nothing, as long as you're using it to refer to the current syntax of a DTD. If
it was used for the XML version, it would cause confusion differentiating between
an SGML DTD and an XML DTD, for instance.

Why not? It's a proud tradition in the IT industry ... :-)
How about XROD (rendition of declarations)?
