For non-commercial use, there is GraphViz at
http://www.research.att.com/sw/tools/graphviz/
It should be fairly easy to map XML to the language that dot (a graph
drawing tool) accepts.
These are generalized graph-drawing tools, so there is a lot to look at (but
it is easy to get started).
