Actually, I think this criticism is justified; the article would have
been better had we pointed out that there is already a perfectly-good
stylesheet language in place (if imperfectly implemented).  I can say
that the editorial process was somewhat fraught and space at a definite
premium, but still.  This is particularly ironic since I have been using 
every other pulpit at my disposal (cf xml.com, conference keynotes, 
webstandards.org) more or less continuously for the last year to call 
for conformant XML+CSS+DOM now, and leave the future to the future.  
Having said that, I think that the quoted phrase is a reasonably 
accurate description of XSL. -Tim
