This would be _wonderful_  for example, SAX and DOM should be 
designed/written so that they are complementary.  So that:

I could do:
     SAX -> DOM -> SAX'   Where Events(SAX') = Events(SAX)
and  DOM -> SAX -> DOM'   Where State(DOM') = State(DOM)
