DTD vs DCD vs Schema

Hi Tim;
Thank you for your response.

I understand that only DTDs have official standing and that DCD and XSchema
(and others) are only submissions/proposals to W3C. What i'm asking, is it
the intent that, in the fullness of time, one of these will supplant DTDs
as a document type notation?
