XML MetaData Object Persistence (XMOP) is now available in beta form at
http://jabr.ne.mediaone.net/xmop/signup.htm

documentation is available at http://jabr.ne.mediaone.net/documents/xmop.htm

The XMOP DTD:
http://jabr.ne.mediaone.net/documents/xmop.dtd

XMOP, in final form, will be freely available open source. For development
purposes there are no redistribution rights associated with the beta. Please
send me any suggestions and/or modifications for inclusion in the final open
source version. The Java side of XMOP is being released now. I haven't had
sufficient time to get the C++ version code ready for public view :-) Part
of the issue regards the XML parser. At the time it was written, XMOP used
MSXML IE4. This is not DOM compliant and I haven't had the time to update
things to IE5 which is DOM compliant. The other issue regards my use of
class libraries which I can't release as open source at the moment (I have
to extract releasable code from the libraries). The Java version uses IBM
XML4J and JDK 1.1.6+. This can be obtained from alphaworks.ibm.com.

My apologies for the delay, it's just been a packaging issue. Comments and
suggestions are welcome.
