should FOP require JDK1.2.x?

I think that the key phrase there is "too many people". You'll probably
offend those poor unfortunate folks who are using Mac's, Microsoft's JVM,
and other obscure environments, but with solid versions of 1.2 available on
Solaris, Linux, and Windows, that probably takes care of 90% of the people
who want to use FOP.

Subject: should FOP require JDK1.2.x?

I'd be interested in hearing people's views on the simple question: should
FOP (my XSL formatter/renderer) require JDK1.2.x? At present it works with
1.1.x.

What are other XML developers doing? Should I stick to 1.1.x compatibility?
Or can I require 1.2.x without offending too many people?
