I was asked by the CTI directorate to give a talk on the use of the
Web for resource discovery at the CTI conference in Oxford.
The degree of enthusiasm was high, but tempered by proper and serious
concern about the quantity of resource needed to support a web site
in the short term. ( I think we all accept that in the long term
it will result in a resource saving.... )

this problem is a very real one. Sue and Gill are too overworked to even
*look* at the possibilites offered by the web, let alone realise them.
I suggest the possibility of a collaboration may be the best way
to encourage these centres to move positively on this.
