Subclassing and Inheritance in generic documents

[JS]  Agree. Drop the parameter entities and replace them with more "semantic" constructs, and then it will be much easier to write good DTD tools.
This would result in much better (at least many more) DTD tools, and many of them is likely to be free or at least very inexpensive.
