I don't think '{URIpart}localpart' will be significantly
more expensive to split in Java than 'URIpart
localpart' on some reasonable assumptions about what's
typical (nested braces in URIpart relatively rare;
localpart short relative to URIpart etc.)
Maybe we need to see the splitting code for the two
cases?
